With Store Design Services contracted to handle every aspect of the 22,000 square-foot project including architecture and engineering, interior design, equipment procurement, store planning and project management, Highland Park Market was truly a collaborative effort spanning all areas of Store Design Services expertise.
Winner of the 2006 NASFM Retail Design Award in the grocery store category and affectionately dubbed "The Mona Lisa of Supermarkets", the Highland Park Market of South Windsor, Connecticut blends a classical New England design with contemporary accents throughout.
Eastern region project manager Randy Morris coordinated all aspects of the development process from design to finishing. Because of the high degree of detail necessitated by Highland Park's upscale design, including precise architectural requirements and premium finishing, continual oversight was necessary to ensure the proper execution of plans. Despite the complexity of the project, Randy was able to keep change orders to a minimum while handling issues such as site grading and screening, made difficult by stringent local requirements.
