Timn Jacobs
Director Project Development Services
Timn earned dual bachelors degrees in environmental design and architecture from the University of Minnesota in 1976 and 1978, respectively. After graduation Timn worked for various architectural firms as a project manager until joining Best Buy as its project architect in 1989. Between 1992 and 1994 Timn worked as a senior project manager for Musicland Group, joining Prior Lake Development as its director of land development in 1995. In 1996 Timn became the manager of land development at CSM, and in 1999 returned to Best Buy to serve as director of construction. In 2003 Timn took the position of vice president of project management at Trammel Crow, leaving in 2005 to become SUPERVALU's director of project management.
Timn is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and is an advisory board member to New City Development. He also makes time to volunteer as a science fair judge and art instructor for elementary school children in his local community.
Timn is an avid artist, and spends as much of his free time painting as possible. In terms of architecture, Timn's favorite design style is Mies van der Rohe's 'less is more' approach. "I like the idea that what occupies the space is far more important than the space itself," Timn says, "I find the most elegant environments to be those that can strike a balance between structural order and the freedom of open space."
