Bob Lindquist
Regional Director of Project Development
Bob graduated in 1979 with a BS in civil engineering from the University of Illinois. After graduation he was hired by the Inryco company as a contract administrator, and in 1982 moved into a facility engineer position with the Kroger Company of Cincinnati, OH. Bob joined SUPERVALU in 1984 as a store engineer and earned several promotions, including store engineer manager, regional group manager, and eventually regional project development director. In this position Bob currently oversees the development of retail projects in the Pacific Northwest region of the of the U.S.
Bob's favorite retail spaces are high-end specialty food gourmet shops such as those found in Europe and Manhatten because, as he states, they are "a feast for the senses - sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch." Bob also enjoys the ultra-modern streamlined shapes of the Art Deco style, particularly the movie theater marquee. "It was a striking new design style that emerged and even today, as it has almost dissappeared, you can still see elements that have survived in current architecture."
Bob has continued his education through classes and seminars focusing on retail related subjects and public speaking, and is recognized by the Food Marketing Institute as a Certified Supermarket Designer. Bob serves as a board member on his neighborhood community association's Annual YMCA Youth Fund Drive committee, and in his free time enjoys cycling and catching reruns of Seinfeld and Gilligan's Island.
